  • WHAT ARE SOLENT FORTS?

    Solent Forts are a collection of 3 Forts in the Solent which include No Man’s Fort, Spitbank Fort and Horse Sand Fort.

  • WHAT CAN I DO AT SOLENT FORTS?

    Each of our Forts offers a very different and unique experience.

    No Man’s Fort is 3 times the size of Spitbank Fort and can hold up to 200 people. Typically we suggest No Man’s Fort for short breaks (hotel use) and large events. No Man’s Fort is also available for Rule Britannia Sunday Lunch, Access All Areas Tour, Getting Married and incredible Corporate Events.

    Spitbank Fort is a more intimate venue (60 guests) suited to corporate incentives and team building events,weddings and exclusive use parties. Spitbank Fort is also popular for Exclusive Use Events, Short Breaks,Sunday Lunch and Wednesday Lunch Experiences

    Horse Sand Fort – Coming soon to Solent Forts is Horse Sand Fort. It’s identical in size to No Man’s Fort, and will allow guests to enjoy the beauty of this ancient monument in its original state. Visitors will be able to see the original gun carriages, shell stores, armour plated walls, 100 chambers and living quarters, providing a dramatic and vivid slice of island life from the past.

  • HOW DO I GET TO THE FORTS?

    A small ferry or RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) will take you from our Port Office in Gunwharf Quays. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS

  • WHERE CAN I PARK?

    Parking is available in Gunwharf Quays, alternatively there is an out of town park and ride service.

  • I’M PLANNING A SPECIAL OCCASION, WHAT CAN YOU PROVIDE?

    We can organise a wide range of surprises, from birthday cakes, to flowers and speciality cocktails. Want to really surprise? Ask us about Sabrage…

  • CAN I GET MARRIED AT SOLENT FORTS?

    Yes! At Spitbank Fort we have a wedding licence and can hold functions for up to 60 guests.
    At No Man’s Fort we have a licence for up to 200 guests.

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN I VISIT?

    Guests are welcome to wear smart casual attire, although many like to dress up for the occasion. While on the boat transfer we recommend flat shoes and something warm and ideally waterproof. To make full use of our rooftop facilities, don’t forget your swimwear and sunglasses! (Robes and slippers are provided.)

  • WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

    Your arrival time depends on the specific event that you are attending. We recommend you allow at least 60 minutes to arrive and park, our boats wait for no man! Arrive at your designated departure lounge no later than 11.30am to be sure to get on board. If you don’t make it in time for boat departure we will do our best to arrange alternative options and there will be a transfer fee, all subject to availability.

  • I’M BASED IN THE ISLE OF WIGHT, DO YOU OFFER AN ISLE OF WIGHT PICKUP?

    Currently we don’t offer an Isle of Wight pickup service but we are looking into this for the future.

  • CAN I BRING MY OWN BOAT?

    In certain circumstances we permit boat owners to bring their own boat. Please contact our reception for more information.

  • DO YOU OFFER AFTERNOON TEA?

    Currently we don’t offer Afternoon Tea Experience, but we are looking at the feasibility of this in the future.

  • WHEN IS HORSE SAND FORT OPENING?

    The renovation of Horse Sand Fort has begun and we anticipate this will be complete in August 2016.

Lunch aboard Solent Forts

  • WHAT IS THE COST FOR YOUR LUNCH EXPERIENCES?

    Our Lunch experiences at Spitbank Fort start from £99 per person.

    Our Sunday Lunch experience at No Man’s Fort is priced at £99 per person.

  • I AM VISITING WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS. ARE WE ABLE TO HAVE A DISCOUNT?

    Unfortunately, we are not able to offer group discounts at the moment. However, if your group is made up of more than 10 people, we advise that you contact the venue to ensure that they can comfortably accommodate you all together.

  • I’D LIKE TO PAY FOR MY DINING EXPERIENCE ONLINE. WHICH PAYMENT TYPES DOES THE WEBSITE ACCEPT?

    We currently accept VISA, Mastercard and Maestro. We do accept AMEX although there is an additional charge for this.

  • WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS?

    Unfortunately, access to our Forts is subject to weather conditions. We monitor sea state constantly and will do all we can to notify you of any changes to schedule. In the unfortunate event of severe weather resulting in a cancellation we will endeavour to re-book you at a mutually convenient date. Alternatively, we offer a full refund of your booking.   • WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS THE BOAT?

    If you don’t make it in time for boat departure we may be able to arrange alternative options subject to availability. There will be a transfer fee charged for the additional boat journey. We recommend arriving at least 60 minutes before your schedule departure to ensure that this doesn’t happen.

  • I HAVE DIFFICULTY WALKING, IS THE VENUE SUITABLE FOR ME?

    Due to the historic nature of Solent Forts, their listed status and stair access, we are unfortunately restricted to the modifications we can make. Therefore the Forts may not be suitable for those with restricted mobility or the elderly. Anyone concerned about visiting the Forts are advised to speak to us before planning a trip to ensure that we can accommodate any specific requirements. To protect our venues for future generations please be advised that pets (excluding guide dogs) are not permitted within our properties.

  • I HAVE A FOOD INTOLERANCE – CAN THIS BE ACCOMMODATED?

    Our talented chefs will be able to cater for your requirements with delicious alternatives or by tweaking the ingredients they use for you. Please contact the venue and we will happily make sure that your lunch remains exceptional whatever your dietary requirements.
